Our client was looking to establish an insurance underwriting operation in the UK and other European territories.  Their objective was to start as a provider in a single class of general insurance.

Our role:

• We provided a business analysis of the best countries from which to operate.  This looked at all the factors that would influence the success and profitability of their business.
• We evaluated the option of setting up in Lloyds and using the extensive Lloyds licences arrangements.
• We identified the options for interim management while the business was being developed.
• We dealt with the FSA over issues of set-up and authorisation.
• We put forward detailed recommendations.
